So shooting a 308w at 500yds moa on the day (2 weekends ago) 2.5 for wind, for the 303brit, 5moa so the problem is what? Frankly if you are poor at wind reading then practice, join a TR/FTR club, shoot every weekend. Blasting a f-ing big magnum at 400yds when you have to pay for it, ammo and carry the damn thing as a cure for your poor wind reading ability is plain silly IMHO.
If you are shooting a 308 across a gully or up a hill at 500 yards with little/no wind indicators at an animal, you are going to need a huge amount of luck if you think you are going to kill it even if you are shooting 208s.....
