Awesome thanks guys a lot of good information here.
I have another .30-06 which is quite a fussy rifle. The brand is called Stiga, it’s m96 action and I read somewhere they came factory with a Shultz and Larson barrel. It sprays every factory 150gr projectile but it would circumcise a bird at 200m with Hornady custom 180gr sst. 5 shots under an inch at 100m. It’s a shame hornady stopped manufacturing that ammo.
I read on another forum on here from 4 years ago that someone’s husqvarna 1600 .30-06 shot really well with winched super x 150gr.
    Can anyone confirm this?

Yeah that’s a good point you’re not wrong 👍 I’ll get down to the range next month and will see how I get on. Cheers

so you DUPLICATE as near as you can what ever that 180 was doing..only need one factory round to do it...it gives you the jump to lands etc and internet SHOULD give you approximate velocity it was supposed to be doing... set up another similar 180grn projectile at same length and velocity and chances are high you will see similar results.yes Grandpamac will be closerer using his chronicgraph...but book values wont be that far off...

Me thinks it so bloody refreshing to see a bloke using an old Husky in an old, but oh so legendary calibre, with wooden stock of a shape I recognise as a stock, with a non dailing, no fiddley twiddly parallax knob scope. The only two accessories seen here are two bits of leci tape, one black, one yellow. Very practical, very refreshing. Just my 2 pence worth.
    Cheers MG
If it flies, floats or f#cks, your better off to rent it

Qn. What is your best/favourite load for xyz?
Answer. Don't ask for favourite loads on the internet or face ache.
    Check with the powder manufacturer.

Thanks for that, very useful. Guess what you get when you check with the powder manufacturer. You're getting their favourite loads in an individual rifle. Off the internet.
