KidsTarget Shooting ChCh
My Daughter aged 9 , has been in my ear about target shooting . What is out there ? small bore ? air rifle ? Pistol ? (don't care she likes shooting thats all that matters ) And what requirement on age ? . Any info in general would be welcomed. cheers Munsey

Air Pistol could be a good option look up the Christchurch Pistol Club website and the info should be there. Great couple of ladies run the evenings and look after the younger generation of shooters. Pretty sure the info is under ISSF section.

There are several small bore clubs in the Canterbury region that would welcome her.
Possibly a little young for fullbore outdoor shooting.
Air rifle/pistol may be another option.

I started shooting small bore in chch when I was about ten, with the railway east club-there are still a few clubs around town so you should be able to find one close to you-most have a good selection of club rifles she could use

West Melton Club is missing from the list of clubs and I think there are also clubs in Dunsandel and Leeston.

@Munsey - I am a range officer at the nzda range if you want to take her down there for a shoot at 50m with the .22 at some stage. Also my kids have had good fun with a Crosman 2289 that I brought them a while back.
