Don't carry out a Cal MV unless you are in the parameters set out by Kestrel you are just wasting your time. You are better off shooting several ranges recording the drops (at least three) then altering your velocity to get things to line up as best you can. As Todd Hodnet says the bullet doesn't lie.
If your recommended to tru at 810m by the kestrel but only want to shoot and tru to 600 if you tru at 600 your data from your zero to 600 will be correct but possibly out past that there could be will be errors.
The kestrel system is easily the most reliable and accurate way to get your elevation corrections bang on whether you shooting at sea level or half way up mt cook.
