Looking for a piece of farmland to setup steel target shooting outer Auckland area or has someone got one all ready set that can come and shoot on

Welcome to the fraternity. There has been a lot of work done in the AKL region to try and establish a long range facility. There has been several false starts but as yet no real progress. If you want to shoot long range either join the Akarana City or Clevedon rifle ranges. They shoot NRA style F-class out to 900m on electronic targets. Their seasons are nearly done for the year and usually try and kick off again in Sept ground conditions allowing. The closest comps you can shoot are in the Taranaki. Head over to the Taranaki Long Range FB page. Depending on your situation most of the long Range shooting is done in the South Island. PM if you need any more info. There is some secret squirrel stuff going on in the back ground but its very early days.

the cheapest way to do it is to join a club, pay whatever the asking price. It is the cheapest way.

If you want to shoot for free, it gets real expensive. Time to find a suitable place, making friends with the farmer, buying your own steel targets, etc, etc, etc...

Most forum members are shooters, not farmers. many have their own secret farm/spot, but it is such a valuable asset, people wont share unless you are a friend. Making friends with fellow forum member takes just as effort as making friends with a farmer.

In the end of the day, just join a club.
