Yes she was quite strong in her speech about the TPM transgressions. I have been having discussions with numpties on Facebook saying she was over reaction and part of a gun lobby. Plus breaking the law about registering her firearms. Gotba couple of don't you listen comments to one moron when he repeated that but from his other comments he is an anti, comparing her/us to the gun lobby in the US. If he is that dumb he probably is on the firearm control group

Regardless of the firearms side of things, she called out the poor behavior from the party of grievance. If you have seen the video it's quite disgusting to listen to the background nonsense.

Nicole spoke very well, and from the heart , you hear her voice break and then recover …this isn’t a political speech this is heart felt.

How hard it must be to stand and remain composed whilst others throw down on you .

Nicole is our spokesperson, I thank her for taken up a batten I would struggle to hold , she champions our community as firearm holders .
    Nil durum volenti !!

I would prefer a politician that acutally delivers on his/her promises.

Got a better representative for us in mind?

What have you done? Why haven't you become an MP and show us all how it's done?

Name another, any other, politician that has tried even half as earnestly as Nicole on behalf of the firearms community. She may not have achieved and may not achieve everything she hoped to but she has to play within the rules of how politics is conducted. I maintain she is our best hope and she has my gratitude and respect.

Sounds harsh but in a way valid.
Regardless of the obvious individual merit of Nicole, being enamoured by her is not what gets changes.
Somehow ACT and Nicole have failed to bring the coalition partners on board and this goes beyond just being a nice person or a respected range shooter and enters the realm of political astuteness, strategy, persuasive argument and guile. And maybe a little bit of mongrel. It might be the party, it might be the individual, it might be a combination of things. But the outcomes are going to fall short.

Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.

It's also a populistic and numbers game. Picking the "winning side" even if it's morally, or financially the wrong one in certain issues is the way to stay in power and have an easy ride. People of integrity are few and their rational view won't gain traction against the party and majority line.

In a way Tahr is right. One can try their hardest to achieve a successful outcome for something they believe in but it’s hard when fighting populist opinions and don’t have support from coalition partners. J Collins for example is a senior National MP who has a fair bit of influence and has in the past shown disdain towards firearms owners. Many other MP’s are only interested in retaining their seats in parliament so generally vote according to populist public opinion. Our own local MP is from a farming background yet shows no inclination to support Nicole/ACT in regard to proposed firearm legislation reforms. He is merely chasing election votes and is as effective as wet tissue for a raincoat when it comes down to electorate representation. Nicole may not be achieving the results she hoped for but at least she’s trying.

It can be hard when you are trying to convince a brick wall.

Ron Mark faced the same battle, she has done better than him.
