    NZDA (Rotorua)

    Kia Ora team

With the new rifle coming, I know that the only access to the range here in Rotorua is through the NZDA. I was just wondering whether or not anyone is a member and how active the club is. Is it worth joining?

I've tried to find as much out about them but their website is out of date and not many active people on their Facebook page. I'd be keen to join as new to deer hunting and always keen to meet new people but if they're not that active whether it would be better to just get it sighted in at the Taupo range.

    Cheers guys!

FWIW, I joined Tauranga Nzda as the Tect park range is closer to home. Excellent facilities, regular shoots with a great bunch of people.

    Hi Scottie,

Don’t have any experience with the Rotorua NZDA branch, but NZDA in general us a very good organisation to be part of. Give you the opportunity to meet with likeminded people. I am a member of both Hutt Valley and Wellington branches - they organise club hunts, hunter training courses, competitions (shooting, photography, others) and shooting ranges where possible. At the monthly meetings there is normally a guest speaker that will expose you as a hunter to various topics and information.

In the branches I am part if there are numerous initiatives to promote hunting and hunters and to work with Doc to use hunters as part of the overall game management plans.

But like any organisation, it is the people that make it - join and have a look.

Is there open days to the Public at TSSC, or do you need to become a member (or belong to another club) to use the range?
