CZ 75 shadow SP 01 or a glock 17 are good entry level pistols.
Nothing 'entry level' about a Shadow. All you'll ever need unless you want to spend shitloads of money on a temperamental open gun.Quote:

Modified would be the next one that most go for. Optics on the AR which needs to be E cat for the 30/40 round mags you will use and there are a mix of what shotguns people are using. Usually semi's with an mag extension but a number of people still shooting pump action.
Modified is a good place to be imo, lost of people using their ipsc production pistols, basic AR with optic and lots of basic shotguns. You can have all of the fun without the heavier investment to be competitive in open.
I just got my boy the S&W 15-22 .22lr AR for use at the auckland shooting club for the ipsc mini rifle comps we will be holding. Everyone I talk to is keen to give that a go. Nice cheap competition and with a bunch of keen guys/gals it doesnt really matter that it's only .22. There will be plenty of fun.

Usually skateboard deck tape. Just buy offcuts from a skate shop and stick it on yourself. The IPSC rule book has the diagram of where it can and can't go on a Production Division gun.Quote:

I almost bought a set but decided to go for Aero flip-up sights instead as I like that I can fold them out of the way. I'd imagine the DD ones are built like a tank & are very sturdy, either way wouldn't of made a difference.
Maybe I could still get a set for that future upper?? :D
