I was shooting my Sako A7 in cal.308 with Hornady Superformance 165gr today at the range. The first 3 shots I took gave me .5 MOA of grouping at 100 meters (.5 inch below the bullseye). I turned 2 clicks up and and the fourth shot was dead centre. Not sure what happened after that, didn’t make any further adjustments, but the group started to spread and I was all over the paper after that. (Was getting 3’ MoA groupings at 100 metres)
Does anyone know what could have happened there? Maybe barrel overheated? If so, can you only expect 4 good shots out of a factory barrel?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Mustafa
Pretty normal unless the barrel is a stupidly heavy one.
Take your time between shots to let the barrel cool a bit.
