A separate seat is an advantage, it removes the seat movement from influencing the bench and allows the seat height and position to be adjusted to suit the user.

All fits together very snug. Can be flipped about for RH or LH shooters, so very easily adapted.

Some people put a larger ply sheet bolted to the top of it
It would be more flimsy but the advantage is it wouldn't move when you shifted your position as much
Note, not necessarily this particular alum bench but similar type of thing

I think these are all marked up accurately. Apologies to anyone who actually works with wood, think I marked enough for anyone to copy and cut their own, I assume anyone who is going to build their own bench also has the ability to double check this!
Note : All of the cutouts are 50mm x 18mm and the measures are to a corner (not centers). The circle for the base is a 300mm dia with the center between ends, should be a semi-circle entirely, or close enough.

Finally bothered to make this and use it yesterday, I moved the top across on my second sheet to extend the gun side of the table over an extra bit which is worth it.
I will agree that the wooden tabs are a bit of an arse, I'm no woodworker so I ended up trimming them off and screwing the thing together permanently. Someone more skilled will have no trouble with the cutouts....
She's a sturdy table and on even ground or paddock the integrated seat isn't causing any movement, I'd even reckon it makes the table more stable. No noticeable movement translated into the rifle.
I would do cutouts on a revision to lighten up the base pieces, and I would try dowels instead of the wooden tabs.
Holes straight through the seat and bench so you can still flip it around, and get a longer dowel that goes the full 18mm through.
And I would reinforce around the dowels placement in base, bolt a flat bracket either side or something.
Not bad for about 150$ at least.
Cheap, portable work bench with some ply held in place with 2 small bolts. I've since put a larger piece of ply on it.
