    Public range in Wellington?

Is there a range in Wellington/Kapiti that I can just pay for the day? I want to sight my 7mm08 in but the ranges all seem to be clubs. I'd see the benefit in joining the local deer stalkers club here in Kapiti but I think I'd need to wait for their next meeting to join.

Not aware of any "pay for a day" ranges.

NZDA Kapiti range is on a farm (suspect weekend shooting only), have a yarn to @kiwi39, he is the treasurer there ? Or you might be able to twist his rubber arm and sight it in at his place...

NZDA Kaitoke open all week, but you'll need to be a member, get a key, or visit with a member

Trentham target range is not suited to sighting in.

Wainuiomata landfill range is still getting certified.

Welly tactical / long gully you need to be on the list and know the secret squirrel handshake

Haha, we did away with the handshake ... Cut into precious trigger time.

The waiting list currently only has 2 people on it, there will be spaces coming up.
Really only suited to committed types wanting to shoot as much as possible tho... Not for the annual sight in field trip

No public ranges, per day. Tthere is a private range but that is $500? or more per year, otherwise the cheapest way is join deerstalkers .

Actually you remind me I must pay my Deerstalkers. You can just join on line? I did but you have to go to a meeting to get a range key, for Upper Hutt anyway.

    Paid!

Anyone know the date of when I can get a new key?

Anyone will do to get a key but I intend to do WSRA anzac day if I can. I have got one of the ex-target No4s rebuilt to "as issued" and sighted in a lot better, still needs a wee tweak though. I am going to miss the VC shoot as no point until I get a new rear sight for the target no4 (or a complete rear sight for the no3) that I can see with and then sight it.
