Righto so from what I understand of pills "settling down"
I have always assumed that if a rifle shoots 3 shots into 1/2 moa at 300 yards
then those three shots must have traveled the exact same flight path in order to get from point A (the barrel) to point B (the target)
I assumed any form of initial "wobble" could only manifest itself as a stray point of impact at all ranges in between be it right, left , up or down. But regardless of where it impacts the actual group size can only be the same MOA
It is an interesting topic. It would make sense that groups would only get worse - not better. So I still think its more a case of most people not been able to shoot that well (get tiny groups) at 100...but as the range increases and targets get bigger, its easier to centre your target and produce a smaller (in MOA) group.
But to throw a curveball (or should that be arrow) I was watching my daughter shooting her bow today and distinctly noticed the arrow start off with a large wobble, than ''settled down'' into a much nicer flight path....Hmmm, so there may be some real truth to this theory after all????

I watched this movie with the kids. My daughter now has her own bow! Mother bear gave me the look as it is her favorite present of all.
Does arrow make you guys want bows?
More to do with shoveing a long thin flexy shaft really hard and fast from one end i think.
