That is a cracker haul :) couple of good carrots to boot!
Did you shoot out to the mussel farm? Filled the bin there last weekend :)
Get a little grapnel
Could easily be man, we get them up here most summers and with the marlin and stuff down south this year its likely the water temps. Hell my mate swam with a whale shark up here a year or so ago
Manta ray?
Mullet probably getting busted up by kings bro ;)
I love them raw, nice and firm flesh, I am guilty of using them for bait when targeting XL snapper though ;)
Solid specimen!
Rum, rocks and swell is not a wise collection
Throwing a stick for the pooch?
Great chat mate, no more wrong turns ;)
Just watch the Whareroa boat ramp as you come out under the expressway and the height limit is low, ideal for smaller boats but very low traffic so always a spot on those calm days when everyone else...
Hi Woody, heaps of options mate https://www.google.co.nz/maps/search/boat+ramps+tauranga/@-37.6491487,176.1897538,7081m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1?entry=ttu
Had a good softbait session yesterday, took a while to find them but then it was all on. Tried 20m, them 15, then 5 and found them in 9m :)
Nice one!
I have put an old wine bottle cork over my needle so that I dont risk tagging them too deep, have left about 30-40mmm there so I can still get in enough for kingfish
Yip using the tinsdale programme tags too;)
You think i'd take him to a spot with fish? Come on mate, I wasn't born yesterday :D
Was a good morning for sure, even without the fish. Was really cool discussing the differences of how NZ vs USA manage fish and game, we definitely suck at it. All the best for the rest of your trip...
Monday morning is looking good for us Joe
How deep, we got a good feed of snaps, terakihi and trev on Saturday in 35m
One day I will come down, its on the list near the top
No but you are not really the one fishing when using bait, the bait is ;) Dont get me wrong a good strayline session is great, but I prefer lures myself, more of a challenge imo
Its all a bit boring though :P
Yeah its a very cool fishery and yes very lucky to get amongst it. I saw the first one we dropped at the boat hit the lure, was epic! Both of ours took the long riggers
