    It looks like a huge round for a hand gun. Tried to find out its physical size compared to, say a 45/70.....

    It is basically a lengthen and strengthen .45 Colt, the Colt case is 1.285" the 460 is 1.80"

    Biggest one I know of was a custom 457 White horse magnum. The owner had got sick of hearing the " mine is bigger" and basically turned a single shot break open ELEPHANT gun into a hand gun and said "put up or shut up"
