Strange question and maybe an obvious answer, but I was spotlighting up the Richmond ranges in forestry last week and shot a nice Hind at about 200m.
My mates said they saw the bullet travel the whole way till it hit the deer, lucky I didn't miss :D
Ammo was factory Federal 69gr.
Is this just something that happens every now and then with hot projectiles at night or have I just never noticed it before?
Sometimes the spotlight will reflect off the flat base of the bullet and you can watch it travel on route to its target.
I notice it heaps when using a spotlight. I'm guessing its the light reflecting off the projectile but im not 100% on that

Yeah I figured it was light reflecting as I get that alot when spotlighting with my pcp air rifle.
Sorry VC was out with a mate that got access with another mate so I was lucky to get a seat. Went out Friday night too and got 2 spiker with neckshot's old 260ai, about 450m across a deep gully
