Thread: Spot to sight in in Auckland

Hi Guys,
Recently picked up a bolty .223, and needing to sight it in. Living in Albany, my options are very limited. NZDA range isn't too far away, but as i work sundays, that's not really an option. I was wondering, does anyone have any private land, that would be suitable to sight in on? The rifle is suppressed, and will be sighting in at 100m. Happy to come up with some sort of payment. Can travel within 1.5 hours in any direction. Many thanks!

They have a visitors session on Saturdays, midday to 3pm.
100yd and 100 m ranges.

Spend a bit more time on travel and come south to the Kaimai's...come early, sight rifle in at my place and spend the rest of the day hunting.

Yeah, what zimmer said. You have to prebook with the Secretary for the Sat sessions.
No booking, no shooting.

The nzda does Saturday General practices too

Yes. On the nzda Auckland website. Part of the range Web page has a pdf

Auckland NZDA does not have a General practice on Saturdays , that is a Members only day .

Must have changed recently then. Last year it was always on both days and open to all, depending on the week

It's always been General Practice on a Sunday since I started shooting there almost 7 years ago.

if you check the calendar you'll see that it changes from week to week.
Some weekends 1 or 2 days are booked for pistol shoots,other shooting disciplines ,occasionally shotgun shooting,
and sometimes members only shoots but also plenty of GP weekends/days
