    Texas : 1MOA at 2 miles / 3.3km

RATON, NM — Billy Carter, a native of Spring, Texas, hit a 1 MOA target from a distance of 2.07 miles at the NRA Whittington U Long Distance Range last week. Carter improved the accuracy of his 2013 record, shooting a CheyTac USA M200 Intervention® chambered in .375 CheyTac topped with a Vortex Razor HD Gen1 scope.

Yeah I've seen a few threads on other forums, but overall I'm inclined to believe, there doesn't seem any point these days making shit up and get the 6 guys involved to keep it a secret.

Dude posted about it on SH, had something like a 120moa mount

Was set up as promo shit for cheytac basically iirc

Sling enough lead at something and you'll eventually hit it, even at 2 miles

Go make 3 foot square, put it at 3300 meters look thru a 25x scope at it............
But as gimp said sling enough lead you may hit it...... It's a bit different two actually hitting it first up

First round hits are where it's at!

There is not a single detail about the shot taken in that link that adds up.

    Triple yeah nah.

    Don't forget it is advertising....

Last year/last time they got all excited & bent out of shape because "one" of the shooters with "one" shot somehow managed to hit a 12 foot square, 3.66 meters square (a bloody big barn door), this time one of them managed to hit a smaller target, as has been mentioned, spray & pray especially with the platforms & calibres they are shooting....

3643 yards is a bloody long way.......

They aren't claiming a first round hit. He was initially hitting a 4moa target, shifted to a 1moa and hit it twice out of eight shots. Maybe he got lucky twice???

I do agree with Gimp, throw enough shots at something and chances are you'll hit it. But then if you do, you've got some bragging rights, which seems to be the case in this matter.

I suspect wind might be slightly more of a problem than vertical angle of attack...

If you take a circle and tilt it back at 45 degrees, you would reduce the target size when looking at it through a scope.

If I read that report correctly, they say 2 MOA windage. THAT is what I find pretty hard to believe over that type of distance. They are also talking about shooting over a canyon, so you are most likely dealing with higher velocity wind...

1 MOA target thru a 20x scope at 3000+ yds is not aimed, repeatable shooting...
