Is there anywhere to sight in a rifle near Hamilton

    Hi everyone

Just wondering if anyone knows of any ranges or areas i can sight in a center fire rifle near hamilton / waikato. I've tried contacting a range at whatawhata but the number is wrong. Dont mind traveling abit or cost, just need somewhere to sight it in. Looking for around 100m. Cheers

The range at hpc was for fine tuning of loads once already sighted in as the tunnel wasn't very wide.
Last I heard it had collapsed in on itself and a new one is being made
You could try steve at gun traders. He might know some where?

HFWaikato, yes SOON the whatawata range, the whole club is getting a shot in the arm so to speak.

If things go to plan this saturday which is the clubs AGM, the club will have open afternoons for guys like yourself to come down in zero rifles etc in the future after we have finished club comps,it will not be immediate, but it will happen.

There is abit for us to sort out first eg club programs etc but when it happens and dates and times are set I will see if the program can be put up as a sticky on this site to make it avaible to those who are interested.
Sorry that I cant help straight away but keep it in mind for the future.

    All the best

Runas three plus years back we would shoot Whatawhata often ,i think Ben organized those shoots, mostly LR practise shoots , we alternated between there and Vandy rd Waitetuna valley - most of us shot either Tactical or hunting rifle it would be nice if the Whatawhata range shoots were back..

Thanks for the replies guys. Would be very interested if the whatawhata range opens up again RUNAS. Sounds promising. Will definitely try and make the gong shoot in Auckland el borracho. Where abouts is it being held?
