    Unsafe or not

Its very interesting the levels or lack of levels some hunters place on safety.Upnorth uplander noted a thread on the "other forum" where a goose shooter appeared to have his mates directly in front of him at 1.30 pm to him while blasting and filming with a head cam with them entering his direct line of site although below it as it appears ,
A few people commented on this but its was amazing how many just thought it was "great"

What do you all think -have a look and is this how you would shoot with not just your friends but anyone

I was blown away. No way was that shot at 1.30min safe.

    In my opinion.

I looked at this this morning and showed my wife (ex 20yr army) it just now
    Her comment was:-
"if our instructors saw one of us to that we'd get our head kicked in"

Yep, that does seem a bit shady. It's sometimes hard to judge exactly who was where from a video, but that definitely seems to close for comfort. We are very lucky here in little ol NZ to have relatively easy hassle free FA ownership and it's up to each and every one of us to not give the liberal retards any ammunition to mess with the FA laws.

Man did the hackles get raised in the comments over there. Never killing anyone seems to be justification the shot was ok. It may have been clear of the others but it was still a shot with someone forward of the shooter. Try that on a range with an RO and you would be kicked off smartly. No wonder I dont do much hunting, Im just a bit too safety conscious.

Ok Iv looked, I dont hunt birds but use a scattergun occasionally.
Video can make things look different to how it actually is. But if it actually was how it appeared and I was the guy in front of the shot?

As unimpressed as I am after watching the video, I am not going to pass any other comment on this matter I feel it should stay at the other forum where it belongs to save the shitfights. No offense intended but that is the way I see it.

Its more a thing of interest to see the difference in opinion from her to there .One wonders how many people make foolish mistakes due to peer pressure -ie -everyone going hey wow cool -and a couple going hey that sux and getting shit for saying it .As much as I have had clashes on this site those clashes have never been about safety as most appear to be man enough to say "NO"
We should always have comment on bad practices as it may just save someone

People in front of a shooting firearm = stupidity.

Basic rules and common sense apply, whether it's at a range under RO control, or the back paddock on the farm.

Only had my FA for a short time, but even I know that was unsafe, no matter how many arguments of "camera angle" are put forward, that shot was over the head of a fellow shooter. Totally unsafe IMHO.

Heard of a couple best mates that shot together for years. They were in a flat bottom during duck season. Well into their 60's. A duck came in range and the both engaged it.
Mate in the back remained seated to swing and shoot the other bloke stood up to shoot and lost his head.

Sorry, the only time people should be in front of someone firing in their general direction is when they are identified as enemy.
Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.
