Not that sort of action you dirty buggers!
I haven't played with all of them so can't really say but favourite so far has to be a break open with ejectors... Nothing beats a face full of gunpowder smoke

Where's "straight pull" big fulla ?
Depends on intended purpose really
Yea I agree,
upland, pheasants, quail etc, I take a break action, double
ducks, etc semi auto shotgun, same for flushing rabbits.
big game bolt or falling block, single shot.
And have used a pump action rimfire for small game for years, and prefer it over bolt or semi.
seen as its the roar, I am going with a bolt action.
Side by side sidelock double rifle with ejectors, .470 ideally.
I like a bit of bedroom action
In my world there's just no beating a Lever Action rifle.
Cheers
Pete
Single shot alex HENRI type of action and its cousins farquertson( ruger number 1, Dakota 10, Miller ...)
Semi, can't beat having another round ready to go without having to lose cheek weld.
Still taking about guns? :o
Bolt, no pissing around dropping mags and working the action if you can't take the shot. If you can take the shot your automatically safe after it goes bang
I agree....I also like levers but the two I owned were shitters.....I would like a nice (have to be an old one to be any good it seems) lever one day.
Semi does not do it for me....I am not against them I just dont have the use for one.
Also Tikkas farking piss me off when ever you make safe you have to drop the mag and reload it...farking frustrating!!
Never used a pump but a nice long 870 is on my wishlist.
Lever action feels cool especially for plinking. I liken it to changing gear on a old Harley or something.
My favorite is bolt action, like changing gear in a sports car.
Don't really like semi's even though I have 1022(first rifle)
Kind of wish I had got cz 455 instead now.
girl on girl action
Was expecting a discussion around what brands make the best donor for a build; instead I found everything from talk of bedroom action, to pump action to the lazy man semi. Entertaining read though...:D
I will take the trifecta, semi auto for pistols, bolt action for rifles and pump for shotguns.
It's a hard one for me, I like both bolt & semi in a rifle. Probably semi, fast follow up shots and almost as accurate if not the same as bolt guns. If full-auto was permitted as much fun as it would be to shoot I would still prefer semi-auto.
At the moment I prefer single shot falling block, but also really enjoy the break open doubles and levers. Seems I like old school style with modern build quality....
I'd love to have a crack with three shot burst. See how controllable it is.
I like bolt actions and own a few but to me they're old technology and a semi is superior in almost all practical situations.
However a CIWS is the ultimate.
3 shot burst like they had in the M16A2 or was it 3 wasn't too hard to control at all.
Got to play with one when the AUG won the trial.

I have tried them all fairly extensively over the years, and it is a case of 'horses for courses' as each is perfectly suitable in its right place. For general field and 3-gun shotguns I definietly prefer pump action, but I use an U&O for trap and skeet. Lever action rifles are fine for cowboy action but other than that I don't like them. I hunt with bolt actions, except for goats where I use my AR15, or my 10/22 for bunnies. For a thoroughly enjoyable day, nothing is better than full-auto! I do not like muzzle-loaders much as they are slow, dirty and finickity, but I still shoot them from time to time. With pistols I prefer a revolver for its accuracy, but use semi-autos for IPSC. I guess the short answer is; it doesn't matter much, I just like shooting!
Mauser308, had the same thing happen to me with and Armalight whilst trying to shoot goats off a slip up the coromandel.
Scared the shit out of me. We ran out of ammo in the shot and all we got was the sound of laughter from the goats.
Luckily we where shooting down onto the slip because man that thing rode up and to the right like you have no idear! Hate to have sprayed 308 rounds all across the sky:O_O:
Stopped in Wahi on the way home to the gunsmith that used to be just out of town there and had him fix it!
Sold it after that. To expensive to run and also weighted a ton. Shot them with .22WRM after that a single shot savage that I had converted from .22lr!
Anyway I've my vote goes for driven boar leaver action or double barrel.
Deer stalking bolt action.
Birds 12gauge under and over.
Pests bolt action in .22WRM
Rabbits over dogs 20ga SxS same gun for ducks.
Rabbits over ferrets 28ga double.
Rabbits night shooting 20 auto and .17 hornet or .223 bolt.
Deer whatever bolt rifle is handy
Rabbits with the thermal, we'll see, might try it over the AR cause I don't like the noisy bastard of a thing for anything else.
whilst its often termed 'getting a shot away"im not exactly sure which particular action your mutton gun would fall under-perhaps you'd care to enlighten us??????
okseriously-
o/u/semiautox2 12g for ducks geese rabbits .pigeons and possums when one shoves his ugly mug out
my12gsxs for pigeons
.22boltactions for rabbits etc
.223.7.62x39or beloved .303 for anything else and stress relief when humanity as a species piss me off.nothing beats the staisfaction of looking at a target with a cluster of bloody large holes through it as you stand reeking of gunpowder and a hot barrel .if i wanna play rock&rollmag ext on 12g semi and lets see how fast this baby goes.generally leaves any audience stunned.chews through ammo tho!
Short action 308 :-)
