Of course we took the thing in to get fixed the next day (ran out of ammo...).
Mauser308, had the same thing happen to me with and Armalight whilst trying to shoot goats off a slip up the coromandel.
Scared the shit out of me. We ran out of ammo in the shot and all we got was the sound of laughter from the goats.
Luckily we where shooting down onto the slip because man that thing rode up and to the right like you have no idear! Hate to have sprayed 308 rounds all across the sky
Stopped in Wahi on the way home to the gunsmith that used to be just out of town there and had him fix it!
Sold it after that. To expensive to run and also weighted a ton. Shot them with .22WRM after that a single shot savage that I had converted from .22lr!
Anyway I've my vote goes for driven boar leaver action or double barrel.
    Deer stalking bolt action.
    Birds 12gauge under and over.
    Pests bolt action in .22WRM

Rabbits over dogs 20ga SxS same gun for ducks.
    Rabbits over ferrets 28ga double.
Rabbits night shooting 20 auto and .17 hornet or .223 bolt.
Deer whatever bolt rifle is handy
Rabbits with the thermal, we'll see, might try it over the AR cause I don't like the noisy bastard of a thing for anything else.
