Winchester 70 xtr .243 was my first center fire way back in the 70's great rifle, I thought the jeweled bolt and shiny stock with the black forend were bling.

I'm sure that's when I first used 85 gr GameKings the Winchester 70 xtr .243 and my subsequent Remington 700 .243 both loved them.

I had one in 222. Was built on a long action so not a lightweight rifle but very nice. Should never have sold it. Similar specs to the 700 BDL

buy it...bolt is the slickest thing you will ever use, trigger is super easy to adjust and .22-250 just screams wallaby/fallow rifle.

Yep, Does that all right shoot about 30 last weekend, North westerly was blowing a real bitch, shooting out to about 300 with both the 22-250 and the 6.5x55. but there's still plenty left for you to come out and have a shoot again

Very nearly bought one when they first came out but opted for a Tikka when there were reports of the initial bunch being quality control challenged. Apparently sorted and later models are all go. Maybe check the serial number and see if it's early or later?
