I am currently doing pest control for a forestry company. I am using a Browning x bolt Speed which is reasonably light. However, by the time you take into account the weight of the Hikmicro Night vision scope, suppressor and long bipod it tips the scales at 6kg. Now that's heavy! I don't use a quad; I walk everywhere...they can't hear you coming.
Totally agree with 'Micky Duck' when he says the "having one really heavy rifle is a good thing, you appreciate the lighter ones much more lol."
My summer rifle is a Kimber Hunter in .280 AI. Man, this is one sweet rifle to carry and shoot. I would recommend a Kimber.
Except for the fact that as 'Searer' says, " You won't find a left-handed Howa or Kimber." And unfortunately, he is right.
I also think that the Tikka is your best option.
Nah - the "join a gym " is your best option , but buying a lighter rifle is still a good option.
The gun you own and better fitness is the way to go.
OP states "after an accident", so just losing body weight may not be as easy as it is said. Also why carry extra weight if you don't have to?
