Oh and .223 will target shoot to 600. People do shoot to 900 or even 1000. But for the average guy with the average gun, 600 isn't unreasonable.
You're also going to want to start hand-loading.
Yeah iv read a bit about loading n def something I would do eventually. But prob only once I’m comfortable with what I have and better knowledge. :)

The biggest issue IMHO is wind drift with 223 at longer distances. 400 and 600 is definitely well within it's capability but the wind starts to push the small projectile quite a bit. Also i'ts usually more difficult to observe the bluet strike at this range than say a 6.5 or .308 projectile.
I hear ya, tho I do enjoy a challenge with the wind aspect. But good info n something to consider. The strike is a good point tho. If I can’t see it hit then what’s the point ;-0

223 will drift though, its a pretty light slug. at the end of the day it a case of hunt/target and range/knockdown.
i still want to see this 50 cal though
@ops is it ok to post?
Ha I will post a pic but it’s not that exciting :) maybe I will post a pic of the pellet sizes all lined up so you can see the dif then. It’s bloody loud to shoot. Louder than my shorty.
