    Hello from Auckland / Singapore!

Hey all, I'm from Auckland but work in Singapore and usually back for several months in the year (definitely summer!)

I've been shooting a while... starting with spring air rifles more than 35 years ago (joys of a big backyard in those days!), eventually getting into .22 and even a stint in 3 Gun.
These days, I mostly shoot possums with a .22 LR (got a nice CZ 457) or my HW95 springer.

I enjoy .22 and air guns since I can shoot them a lot in most places and quiet. That's also why I like archery (recurve mostly, but also compound) and crossbows (Excalibur recurves).
When I used to live in NZ was a member of the Waitakere Small Game shooters in west Auckland, great for practicing positional fundamentals and North Harbour Airgun (practice offhand and positional). I visited recently and boy my shooting skill has declined badly!!

I'm planning on spending some more time back in NZ and going after some slightly bigger game (goats, wallabies).... been toying with a simple 7.62x39 bolt action. Cheap to shoot and accurate enough.
Would love to get into long range precision rifle and reloading, but that might have to be during retirement

BTW if anyone is planning on visiting Singapore, let me know.. happy to connect with fellow shooters and provide some local tips.

    Cheers,
    Daniel

Welcome. Last time I was in Singapore I saw wild pigs running across the main road on the way to the zoo !
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Welcome! I miss Singapore and Malaysia so much right now. Good food good shopping, and Singapore has GREAT zoos. Usually I go there once every year or two.

    Welcome aboard.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely

Hahaha yes they're still around. There are a lot of locals who strongly object to any form of lethal pest control.
Lots of monkeys in the parks.... do NOT feed them. They've learnt to associate backpacks and plastic bags with food and will steal them!

There's some shooting clubs in Singapore, but its tightly controlled. All guns and ammo in a central armoury check out / check in.

Monkeys even will do sexually harassment to female human.
Even tightly controlled, still people could access firearms.

Ha yes I went through a ton of videos on YT on reloading. I'm quite a data driven and analytical person... seems like the perfect hobby lol

Love Singapore. Had a job offer there a long time ago, but didn't take it. Regret that now! Is there a hunting scene in Singapore (or Malaysia)?
