    Hello from Georgia

    Hi guys. New member here. I’ve been researching hunting New Zealand for a while and someone recommended this forum. I checked it out and really like it. I’ve been hunting my whole life in the USA. I’ve also been involved in shooting my entire life. I enjoy most outdoor activities, as well as helping teach new shooters to the sport. I mainly hunt elk and deer every year with an occasional trip to Alaska. Looking to learn more about New Zealand mountain hunting from you guys that do it. I can already tell elk country here is quite different than tahr country. Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope to see you in 2020! Mason

    Welcome. Do your homework well before you come on down. Our back country can be quite treacherous in both terrain and weather.
    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
    Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
    Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
    Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
    Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
    Rule 5: Check your firing zone
    Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
    Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
