Hello new and much better forum

Hi all. Northland Hunter on the "other forum" just found this place, wondered why it had gone a bit quiet on the other side. Looking forward to a bit less bullshit over here. Im in Palmy, not long finished my apprenticeship as an armourer. Always up for cashys trigger work, bedding etc. Do a bit of hunting but seen to spend alot more time shooting steel. Got a few different guns but flavour of the month atm is a 6.5 grendel I built of a zastava M85 action. look forward to a central north island gong shoot sometime.

    Cheers
    Tom

Welcom mate, the other forum has its uses. I like poking sticks in the whole lead vs steel shot debate. Good for a laugh if nothing useful
All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

    Welcome,

I have an interest in the 6.5 Grendel, and think that one built using the 7.62x39 Zastava (as you have i assume) could absolutely be the ideal rifle to get the kids hunting with when they are old enough. So really keen to hear what you have to say about yours.

Sweet dude. Dont no much about the grendel whats the performance on the 130s and bolt face size? Optimum barrel length and can you ream on the sweede or does the barrel need to be set back.

It's way shorter than a Swede... Based on the PPC case, x39mm blown out a bit. Same boltface as x39. Runs nicely from a 16" I reckon. Everyone seems to build them in 24" to get that extra 30fps though.

Yeah as gimp said much shorter than a swede. I went for a 18" trueflite tube, getting 2650fps with 123gr amax which is reasonably warm in this barrel. Ive got a bit of a fetish for micro length actions. Next project will probably be a 6mmAR Turbo on one of my sako vixens.

Welcome Tom. Our numbers have been swelling for a while now.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
