    Hello from a tourist

I am going to be in New Zealand, Auckland area, in late October for a vacation. Does anyone know of a club or range that can accommodate a shooter without his own gun? I was shooting sporting clays several times a month before work transferred me to Malaysia. I haven't touched a gun since and my trigger finger is getting itchy

My old facility in Houston would rent shotguns on a per round basis. Is there any place there that has a similar service? I would love to add shooting to my visit to your country along with fishing and siteseeing.

Thanks in advance for any help or leads.

    Jim

Welcome in advance Jim. I can't help, you but there will be plenty who can.
What is your plans destination wise? Might be easier for someone to put their hand up if they are in your area.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

Welcome to the forum. I am not a shot gunner but do have one (just because the safe looked lonely without one) that I use for a bit of pest control from time to time. I also have a clay thrower. You are welcome to come out and have a blast at some clays if you do not get any other offers to go to a club type environment. I could even throw in some long range shooting if you wanted. Just let me know closer to the time.

That is providing you didn't mind using a 20g "girls gun"
    Gapped axe likes this.
All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

Nothing girly about a 20. I've brought down alot pheasants (and chuckers, and doves) with my little Ithaca 20ga. Gets the job done, doesn't hammer you and is nice and light to walk the fields all day.

We (wife and little girl) will be spending a few days in Auckland and then driving around the North Island. Schedule is still a bit up in the air. I was hoping to use a shooting range as one of our stops. I am the only one of the family that shoots regularly (the wife shoots but not shotgun, and the little one is only 5 so better to start her on a .22lr and cans rather than moving clays )
