decided to finally create a account after viewing these forums for years now that ive got my gun license. I've got a 22.LR and i think ive gotten to the point where im ready to step up to a mid powered gun such as a 308,30-06. also thought itd be a good idea to say hello because ive seen people get flamed for not introducing themselves lol.
Welcome! Also Id like to throw my vote in for a .308. Milder recoil, very standard cartridge with a heck of a lot of ammo choice and rifle choice. 30-06 is an absolute classic but has noticeably more recoil for a new shooter and not too many rifle options these days. Cheers

Why, more ammo choices off the shelf.Bit ceaper to, I'd imagine.
Also, 30 cal has the edge over 270 on bullet choices if you decide to reload, generally cheaper too.
Welcome aboard Codee. Moving up from a .22 to a 30-06 would be like going from playing with a kitten to wrestling a pit bull. Get something with a milder recoil. Your shoulder will thank you and you will be far less likely to have to train out a flinch.
