    Hi from Dunedin.

    Hi all,

I've posted a few times, but thought I'd better introduce myself.

I’ve been hunting for a few months so far. Have been hunting a few times with my cousin – all rabbits so far.
Just got the bug, and have leapt into it.
I live in Dunedin with my wife and puppy. She will be my deer indicator one day (the dog, not the wife…).

Got my firearms license in Feb, and have got my first gun, a left-handed Tikka T3 7mm08 with Gunworks suppressor and Leopold V3 CDS-3.5-10x50 scope.
I have yet to fire it at all. Champing at the bit to do that

Outside of hunting, I work in IT as a Systems Engineer.

    Cheers,
    Scott.

Welcome to the forum Scott. Good of you to make yourself known

welcome Scott: get yourself into the ballot for one of the flatter blocks in the Blue mountains (rankleburn etc) Don't take glenwhinnie its a dog. Maungatuas are worth a hit - just watch out for spotlighters. (DOC)

also Talk to DCC - they used to do permits for silverpeaks - not sure if there's anything left there tho.

    Good luck.

The local NZDA will put you onto a range where you can get used to your rifle.

Just make sure you have the proper blaze and safety kit if off into the bush!
NOBODY IS PERFECT - but if you're from Yorkshire you're pretty close

Hi. Welcome to the forum. There are a fair few of us in/around here. NZDA range up Leith Valley is open Saturday afternoons. Just after the overbridge over the highway. It's terrible though.
