    Hi Reubags

Welcome to the show. That deer hunting can sure feel like tramping with a rifle at times. There can be some real droughts at times - particularly for those of us who mainly meat hunt on public land. There's always plenty of wild deer on certain farms if you're fortunate enough to get access. Usually have to have some sort of connection or something to to offer the landowner to get regular hunting in these sorts of places. Unless you're lucky enough to work and live where the action happens. Look forward to your contributions.

Yeah, welcome Reubags. I look forward to your contributions also. Especially any beer you get given that you don't tell me about. Evil bastard.

We must catch up for a hunt. You find the deer, tie it up (not with a bungy 'cos they can still bounce around), guide me in, let me shoot it, you gut it, and carry it out, and I will provide the Ranfurly - just like old times!! Oh - you can have the forequarters with the bullet hole.

So right mate. Although I'd love to have access to private land with higher animal of numbers, I do feel a greater sense of achievement when I do manage to bag something on public land. Plus if the freezer was to be full all the time I'd have no excuse to go on more hunts!

Too true re not over stocking the freezer. . . . haha. Especially when convincing the fairer sex of the need to get some good tucker. Also, nothing like banging one on the public estate! Getting a venison on a farm can't really be compared to the skill and effort required on public estate. Hot barrels mate!
