Post Hi guys, I'm new here

I'm new to shooting, as my family were very religious so guns weren't really a big thing. I had my licence for just over a year, and have two rifles, a 22 and a 303. I've been hunting once down in Otago for a few days shooting goats, hares, and turkeys and am currently building up experience and accuracy.
I've been in CHCH for about 5 years, studying at UC, and lived in Nelson for my whole life before that.

I'm hoping to use this forum to find people in and around Christchurch who wouldn't mind taking a rookie out hunting with them

    Welcome Cam
I came from a very similar background, but they never moaned when there was veni or pork in the freezer.

Enjoy the outdoors bud, and I'm sure there will be plenty on here that will help you out.

Hey Cam, welcome ... from another newbie!
Welcome to the wonderful world of controlled explosions, inches from your face ... your parents will be proud of you as this is a religious experience and will be a part of the journey of life!! My advice from someone who moved to another town with no connections is join some clubs and shoot lots ... and follow some of the threads on this forum and respectfully seek the permission of farmers to give you permission to gain farm access - even to shoot bunnies !
My experiences are that the spirit of your average farmer will blow your mind if approached in the right way! All the best ... cheers PJ
