Thread: Hi from USA

Hello everyone:

I'm an American college student, and I'm thinking about studying abroad in New Zealand next year. I love guns and target shooting, so I want to go somewhere where the local laws are acceptable. It'd be great if I could get some hunting done also. I also want to go somewhere warm and English-speaking, so I think New Zealand would be best.

I have a lot of questions, but the first and most important one would be if its easier for me to bring down my own guns, or would it be easier for me to buy something in New Zealand?

I currently own a Mosin M91/30 in 7.62x54r, a Savage 110 in .30-06, a Beretta 92FS INOX Compact in 9x19, and a Zastava M57A in 7.62x25. I might add a few guns to my collection before I leave the US.
