    Late intro from Taranaki

Been on the forum since 2019 but never introduced myself. Like deer but live in the 'Naki where its almost all goats and pigs. Always open to suggestions for deer spots in Taranaki. Already met a couple of forum members, thanks guys made me feel very welcome. Stronger together!

Years ago I organised a get together of forum guys here in Taranaki. Actually I think it was the now-defunct old forum.

    Probably 25 people showed up.

Someone wants to organise something I would likely attend.

Yes, now I look at the OP post date, but @nakikiwi is still active on the forum but not enough posts to PM it appears. Maybe we can change that...

Im happy to do a bit of organizing if its held after mid November. I will make some enquiries as to legal matters but know that while there are marked distances, a place to put targets and a great backstop this is not a working range...I.e. not used as a range nor certified as such. So basically it would be a small group of folk meeting for a few "balloon shots" or at gongs in a temporary (one day) setup, followed by a BBQ.

I dont know how the landowner would feel about overnighting but it's just a Paddock among some hills. No facilities. There may also be issues about securing firearms overnight and if alcohol is involved it all gets kind of difficult. I'd be happy to take PMs offline from those with specific knowledge who have organized similar events especially weekends. I have no prior experience of this. But I do know my way out of a paper bag lol.

If folk want to do it before mid November Im out sorry.

    Welcome aboard.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
