    My Intro

    Evening all,

It's a pleasure to be connected to this forum, I discovered it 8 months ago when looking for clarity and have enjoyed following it regularly since. Really helpful info being shared by same fairly knowledgeable locals.

We live in the North Waikato and have our share of pests on our block which is where we primarily shoot. I know I'm likely(and deservedly) to get some stick for this but it's my wife who is the FAL holder in our family. She was raised on farms, hates scopes and is an amazing shot with her iron sighted Brno 22 she's owned for 40 years.

Personally I love target shooting, a passion which started with 22's at Boystown in Auckland city in the 80's.

I am looking for some advice on a unusual FAL dilemma and will make a post on the firearm safety thread soon.

Thanks to the admins for helping me set up this connection and to all of you for sharing your knowledge.

    Welcome
My Ms outshoots me with handguns any day of the week, so don't fuzz about thatIf u really like target shooting , air rifles and PCPs can't be beaten for cost and practice value. We have some over 80yr olds shots who still comes out to the range, still reloads and shoots open sights. My QST gun was a scavenger 22 single shot. At least 1 meal a week was my meat contribution. You are lucky to be on a farm enjoy.

Welcome to the Forum mate, you best get in for your FAL now while the going is still somewhat good.

I'm sure you will find the scratch for your itch on the forum, plenty of GC's and great information. Enjoy, spread the word to other GC's.

    Cheers.

    Welcome @XKR
Don't worry about your Mrs out shooting you, she'll always need you to help carry them out.

    Welcome aboard.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
