Hey everyone,
I'm new to this site and fairly new to hunting.
Does anybody know if there is anywhere to shoot with .22 or other rim fires that is not private land? or is that just a no go?
Cheers

Hi everyone
I'm new too, had a good read of a few posts. I'm keen to learn more about shooting. Ive been hunting for about the last 5 years although no where near as regularly as I'd like. Ive got a BSA .308 and a weatherby ultralight 7mm08 plus a ruger 10/22.
Ive just started reloading which is awesome and really improving my accuracy.
As the 7mm08 and 308 are similar I'm keen to make one of them a varminter or at least a gun more suited to longer range shooting.
Leaning wards the BSA as its a heavier gun. Although .308 varminter seems like an oxymoron
Any advice greatly recieved.
Sorry for hijacking your post terry but I'd say unless you can go to public land where there are bunnies you would need to know someone on private land.
Cheers

Welcome Terry, welcome Dan. This is a great place so jump right in and enjoy. The terry .22 on DoC land is a no go.
It is possible to get a permit for 22lr for bunnys on public land but I am not sure how easy it is to get, id guess it would have to be an area with a known rabbit problem?
DOC ban 22 Hornet and smaller cal BUT give out gamebird permits for shotguns?
Thanks guys!
@tetawa, Fish and Game issue gamebird and waterfowl licences not DOC...:)
