    New Member - Manawatu

    Based in palmy and pretty green to all this but keen to get involved. Partly through work and partly as my 9year old son has shown a big interest after joining me and some workmates on pest control missions. Started my license process in May this year, have finally had the approval letter and just waiting for the card to arrive to pickup the rifle I have on layby.

    I work in Forestry and most of my colleague's are hunters, plenty of animals around so thought I should get in on the fun rather than letting them and the professional pest control guys have all the fun!

    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
    Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
    Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
    Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
    Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
    Rule 5: Check your firing zone
    Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
    Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
