New NZHS member from Nelson

Hey all!

I'm Aly, 19 years young from good ol' Nelson. Just introducing myself to people out there :)

I've made a posting in the Hunting Forum about being a newbie to hunting - and if anyone out there is willing to let me tag along and teach me a thing or two!
So if you're from Nelson check that out :)

I'm not just a new member to NZHS, but also to hunting! Although I went hunting as a kid, years of inactivity means I can't remember a thing. I'm currently a pretty active tramper and I reckon I would love to step it up and get into hunting so I can really get into the back country kiwi experience :)
You might come across me in the Richmond Ranges pondering along enjoying the wilderness, but when it comes to guns and hunting your own meat - I'm not squeemish, but yes, quite a bit clueless ;)

Anyway just saying hi! Keen to share my hunts in the future and getting to learn some things from you all :)

Oh yea, I've heard of Dougie! Read some stuff she wrote for NZ Outdoor Hunting Magazine :)

My daughter is a Keen hunter/ Fisher, nearly 17. We call her Eli, short for Elise. Just been told to pull finger and drop her off on her possum line. Good luck and welcomed

But VC you can do that as a bloke too! ;) and that tactic is called "catfishing" haha, ya know wiggling your toes around to trick a catfish in thinking it is bait - being something you're not haha

Hello and welcome! I am new to NZHS as well. Not only new to this but I have just moved to Nelson about 3 weeks ago. I'm always keen on a mission since I'm still trying to figure this area out. Planning on heading out tomorrow morning and probably Monday. Just let me know if you are keen to tag along anytime. :)
