Nihao from Wellington (soon to be Timaru)

    Gday, name's Colin.

30 years young, currently live in Wellington & work in the oil terminals seaview side.

First got into hunting I was around 18 years old, mate took me out for a multi farm all night bunny shoot, what a experience! 6 hours through multiple properties, mind blown processing all these new things plus I was woefully unprepared!
My family has no hunting background and my old man came over on a boat post Vientam war around early 1980s so his sole focues was standing up the family.

With nothing on that end I've relied on mates and reading material to learn the ropes.

Since then I've been on a few awesome trips around new zealand since, chased a few pigs up uriti with great mates when I lived in the naki to having a few cracks at the roar in southland.

Things have progressively grown since i got my firearms license at 20, hobbies have expanded a fair bit since to include reloading, long range, 4wding and fishing. Joined clubs for most of my hobbies which the wife disagrees with somewhat.

    Anyways enough blabbering!

My career has lead me to uplift my own family now and move down to Timaru!
If youre south canty based and want to make a new mate and share similiar interest let me know!

welcome...you will love the hunting in south canterbury, its some of the easiest country around..plenty of variety here too.I lived in Timaru for 20+ years before moving out a little. you dont have to travel for hours before you are into country where you can hunt is one of the best features....wallabies are great to get your eye in,stretch the legs and barrels, they not bad eating either.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Hope to see some one the locals while I'm out and about. I'll be trying to head out to sparrowhawk for their monthly events to keep my hand in while I get to know the place!

You're welcome to come south (permanently) @ebf. We've got room for you.

Bring your better half too, you'll both never regret it.

@Cyclops, we were talking about it tonight. Reckon property prices in the Te Anau area are going to be pretty attractive soon.

You will be in a great spot once we cut the cable and let the North Island float away. Welcome to the mainland

Then all you would need is for the earth’s magnetic poles to shift so that the climate becomes a bit more equatorial.
