    Rotorua Newbie

    Good Evening all,

My partner and I have recently got our firearms license and although we both have farming backgrounds with the good ole .22, the bigger ones are new to us but we are keen to learn as much as we can. Have been down the range most evenings making the most of daylight savings as there is not much of it left.

We have joined our local NZDA and looking to join CNIGC. It all takes time so will work towards it :-) Just thought I would drop a line and say hi. Also seems like a good idea to join here as we might be able to find a couple of the rifles we are after that are harder to find :-) (think older ones) and meet some like minded people that have a large amount of knowledge :-)

    Cheers

What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Thanks guys! I grew up farming in Reporoa and was using a .22 by about 7 and quite happy with a shotgun from about 12. (I am 34 now) Put license on hold for years doing other things so time to catch up :-) Parents have retired now and sold up the farm, so thats what lead to finding local clubs to shoot with. Waikite is nice as well (just over the hill) Not sure what we are after and we will 100% admit we are new but some of the older WWII stuff like Enfields, K98, and I can't remember what the Japanese ones were called but those old fully wooded bolt actions that have not been sporterised are gorgeous :-O. But as I say 100% new to the older stuff and keen to learn :-)
