I'm on a mid-winter break and visiting with my sister in Leysin, Switzerland.
After sitting in the clouds (1,275m) all morning, I went out for a walk up the hill above the village.
Spotted this mob (herd ?) of chamoix out grazing just above the clouds at 1,600m.
X - marks the spot on the map !

Outstanding, I bet you enjoyed seeing those - some nice heads coming along in there too.
Nice pics. I saw a fair few when my wife and I travelled through Switzerland a couple of years ago. It was the peak of their hunting season and common to see people dressed in traditional hunting attire walking the main streets to and from their hunting grounds.
I got talking to one of the locals showing him some NZ hunting pics when he offered to take me out to fill his Roe deer tag the following morning. Bad timing as we had to leave.

Thanks for the kind comments. I've been over here a few times - mostly winter trips. Here is an Ibex that we got real close to while skiing touring on Pic Chaussey (2,351m) back in 2009.
Amazing animal to see at less than 10m distance.
