    An interest in camera gear...

The camera the Kea is interested in was (by memory) called a Sanyo Point and Shoot. It took relatively good photos considering I couldn't see that well with it. I just pointed and shot photos with it... it worked out well.

Camera technology marches on, at the present time I'm interested in 8K video.

For camera technical people on here.... What camera gear are you interested in?

I've just sold about $4K worth of underwater photography equipment for $1k on TradeMe. It was based on the M4/3 platform and I got some great results with it despite being a diver first and photographer second. Unfortunately, underwater photography is something you have to put a lot of time in to and just not compatible with family life.

I've been messing around with GoPro cameras for the last decade, so will continue to use those above and below the water. Keeping an eye out for the next iteration. Otherwise, they say the best camera is the one in your pocket and most of my photography is now done with a smartphone. I also enjoy photo editing and tend to use Lightroom.

I ran a Nikonos IVa and V for quite a while. The 4 went around the world quite few times, and as it was completely waterproof in an era when most all other film cameras were susceptible to moisture I got quite a few good pics when conditions did not favour others. Will have to track them down.

I just finished copying all my mini-DV footage to my new laptop. From a Sony DCR-TRV20E which cost me about 4.5k about 20 odd years ago. Has a 1MB CCD sensor. Does night shot ok. Probably worth about $100 now.

Nikon D5300 with 40mm f/2.8 Nikkor lens and the ES-2 adaptor: have just finished digitising 2800 slides from my parents' collection.

I started out 35 years ago with a Nikon FE2, when I could barely afford to get one roll of film developed a month.

These days its a Nikon D850 for most of my stills.
Have a D5700 as a light weight DSLR and is the camera my wife uses if she tags along, which is happening a bit more these days.
Have a Fuji X100T for carry when hunting as it will outperform any point and shoot or phone on the market in low light, which is the situation most of the time when you are bush hunting.
