    Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT3 Waterproof/Shockproof Digital Camera - 12.1 Megapixel

Does anyone have one of these cameras? I'm looking at buying one for general use/hunting later this month.

It seems to have good spec's and reasonable reviews, but I would like to hear the thoughts of someone thats used one and/or used one of the previous models (FT1/FT2)? feedback good or bad appreciated.

    Specifications:
    • GPS tracking
    • 12.1 megapixels
    • 28 – 128 mm
    • Altimeter
    • Compass
    • Barometer
    • Waterproof to 12 metres
    • Shockproof to 2 metres
    • Freeze-proof -10 degrees Celsius
    • Dustproof
    • Full HD 1080 movies
    • 3D Photos
    • Leica 4.6x optical zoom lens
    • 28mm wide-angle
    • MEGA O.I.S optical image stabilisation
    • Silicone jacket (added protection)

    Cheers,

Absolutely bloody awesome, for a point and shoot that is a "tough" camera. I had an older model Olympus which was good, but has nothing on the Panasonic. Nice and quick shooting, HD video is an added bonus. The only thing I'd say is make sure you get a screen protector for the LCD. I got mine for just over $500, but would happily pay $700-$800

Thanks, will hopefully convince someone to pick one up duty free later this month.

What sort of battery life do you get out of it?

I got mine 25% off at Noel Lemming, so you could try that? Battery is quite good, Havn't got a second one yet and easily lasts a weekend hunting, but havn't really tested it out.

I've found a way to get one brand new for NZD $371.30 delivered. :have a nice day:

Thanks for the feedback, I'll do a full review once I get one for others that may be interested.

its a shame these type of cameras dont have a touch more zoom, 128 is about 5x isn't it? I wouldn't mind if it had to be bigger to fit the optical zoom in the body...even a area that stuck out to fit the zoom in.

    Rest sounds mint...

Or is there a shock/ waterproof one that does that I have missed?

Yeah I'm not too worried about zoom, I've got another camera for that.

This model (Panasonic Lumix TS3) only has a Leica 4.6x optical zoom lens.

Camera should be here next week, will do a review when I find the time.

I still need to get around to putting in a claim for my old Lumix TZ7 or whatever it was called.

Was an awesome camera until my dumb ass dropped it!

The TS3 (FT3) might be a better option for your next camera.
