    Very polished production

The wife and I enjoyed this film over breakfast this morning, very good production values. The stuff some of these youngsters come up with is really cool. I particularly like how they got the camera so close to the animals late in the movie. If there’s one thing New Zealanders are good at it making a hunting film.

The only minor criticism I have, which is an evolving preference when it comes to short films, is that I’m not particularly interested in watching the hunter in most scenes, or his face talking to the camera close-up. That’s why I like @gimp’s and @Norway’s films. More interested in the animals and environment with a small amount of voiceover if necessary. But the action and dialogue felt genuine and not at all contrived.

And Cam and Nick must be good bastards because they drink Lion Brown, which made my day! Nearly had to have one with breakfast!

Have a look at Cams magazine “The Hunters Journal” Very well put together. Tells the story with photos and text to support them rather than the other way round. At any supermarket or bookshop

Fun Fact: It was hunting with kiwis in 2006 year???) that introduced me to alpine hunting, filming and making YouTube films.
Talk about chance encounter/experience that set a different course in life...

To achieve this close up will need bigger lens on SLR camera. 70-200mm is start, 400mm, 800mm could reach out the distance. Or, you could use a drone with a quality mounted 4k camera.

If you are over DoC land you will need to get a permit for drone filming.
