    30-375 Ruger

I have had this rifle for a while but had issues with the action, even though it was new.....

I got it sorted a few weeks ago & just found some time to do more development with it...

Was originally a 300 Win mag.

It has all the usual lightweight firing pin & shroud, fluted bolt & barrel, T2 Terminator brake, 20 moa HD alloy rail.

With the Ex Rem Titanium stock it weighs 2.995 kilos, 6.6lbs

It pushes the 208 Amax at around 3100fps & the 230 OTM & Hybrids at around 2925fps

It is pretty accurate when I do my part properly

Ballisticly the 208s are only just behind the 162s out of the 7-375 at 1000 & the 230s are ahead of the 162

So basically a 300 RUm but shorter , lighter and less powder.
    LOVE those 375 cases.
    Win win win really?!?!

Would be all over it if my RUM barrel I got off you wasn't so accurate.

It hasn't got the raw grunt of the Rum but it will last longer

The 375 case is a bloody good case, has great brass & incredible performance with the right powder/projectile combination.

So close to a RUM you wouldn't chamber RUM over 375

Yep would rather have the 375 case over the Rum, Win mag, Rem mag, STW, Blaser or Dakota etc.

Looks nice. Can you throw up a pic of the shell next to 7-375 and a .308 or .223 just something common to compare it

    ""Here's a picture of a 375 Ruger (260 Accubond), 338/375 (250 Matchking), 30/375 (185 Berger VLD), and a 300 WSM(180 SP) ""

Took it up the range again this arvo to do some load testing with the Berger 215 hybrid.

Speed is looking good, just have to tune it for accuracy now.

The first group I shot was with the three 208 amax I loaded up, through a dirty cold barrel, it kinda likes the 208

It shoots remarkably well for a lightweight factory barrel with such big projectiles

What's the speed like for the 215 compared to 208?

    They are a bit slower

I only tested them with one powder, they are going around 3000.

I need to do more testing to see what they end up at with several powders

Excuse my ignorant, what is the advantage over 300 WSM? Correct me if I am wrong, disadvantage would be more powder, more recoil, less barrel life, need long action, custom reamer, custom reloading dies over 300 WSM. Btw, what is your barrel length? Thank you for your enlightenment.

What are the advantages of a 300 wsm over a 308.....

This was a standard Rem 700 SPSS 300 win mag, it has a factory 26" barrel, the recoil is less than a 243, closer to a 22-250, unless you take the Terminator T2 muzzle brake off.

A long action is less generally less than 100 grams heavier than a short action.

The 300 Wsm goes better in a long action than a short action especially if you use the 200 grain plus projectiles.

The 30-375 will push the 200+ grain projectiles better than the 300 Wsm.

Barrel life generally isn't a concern in a hunting rifle unless it is used for culling or pest control & there would be little difference between them, the 30-375 uses about 10 grains more depending on powder

The dies arent much more expensive than a standard set for the Wsm, the brass is a dearer.

Performance is way above the Wsm, which is the whole point
