    Accuracy International 20 BR

Just got this one back from my Gunsmith for a very good customer & shot it for the first time this morning at the range

Only had this morning to get it going, boxed up & sent back to the customer as I'm away hunting for two weeks, so no pressure...I have previously built one for myself on a Howa Mini so I could get a good idea where to start & what it could sensibly do, quite an investment but it does pay off...sometimes

We chose the 20 BR because he wanted a 20 cal, he was super impressed with a 204 I built for one of his mates & a bolt swap was wasn't on the cards, it has a custom fluted ex USA MullerWorks 1-8 barrel so will happily shoot the 55 Bergers & put enough RPM's into the 40 Vmax to make them super aggressive which is exactly what he wants, his mate has the same barrel & shoots the 32 Vmax at silly velocity & has heaps through it with no drama with blow ups so far

I'm very impressed with this platform, very nice to operate & it shoots pretty well as you would expect with quality components, look at that ES, yep I wrote the velocities wrong in the bottom group...in to much of a hurry

How easy would it be for you to do pre-fit barrels for AI actions?

That's what this one is, we didn't put flats in it for removal but that shouldn't be too much of a drama

I also import prefit barrels from the States but they are $$$$ especially with the dollar like it is

The ones I have supplied have shot extremely well

What brands of AI pre-fit can you get? And what sort of price?
I'm guessing still works out cheaper than getting a US barrel blank and having locally chambered/fitted?

I'm surprised pre-fits (shouldered not barrel but) haven't taken off here, especially with Tikka/Sako re-barrels being so common.
Maybe we just don't have the volume of new barrels to support it.

Gun city Hamilton have imported a dozen 300 blackout Lothar walther barrels for tikkas and also a few 6.5 prc and 300 prc( more for Sako longerish action ) . I think the criterion barrels imported by Steeve wholesale are selling as well. Maybe people don’t know this options exists ….

As far as I'm aware the Criterions have a nut so not a "true prefit", ie screw it up to the shoulder & torque up to xyz & you are good to go

The US cut barrels chambered here may be a little cheaper now given the declining exchange rate, but probably wouldn't be much in it by the time they are Cerakoted

I would have to do some numbers
