I found it on TM , along with 4 others but no idea what it is. Knob adjust spring tension which acts on little lever on the other end . Beats me but they looked cool

Any maker's marks? Sometimes you can work something out by finding out the field of expertise of the company.

Nah , this one is rated up to 400 something's ( scale goes up to 400 ),the others are 200, 60 and 30. The only clue is that the seller said they came with some electricians stuff.

I suspect it is something like an old duro hardness tester with the knob on the top for zero adjustment.

I have something similar for ... believe it or not... egg shell hardness testing, from a bygone error.

The lever has a hole in the end with 4 slots (sorta like a small tap holder and it looks like something should be pressed in there ,there doesn't appear to be any way of mounting it and the lever only moves far enough to bring it in line with the rest of it.

Looks like it can make a gun fire full auto. Let's ban them.

How about a wool fibre thickness gauge? I can’t fully see everything, how about more photos. James.

Yeah?,any idea how it is used ,I did have a bit of a Google and I see the idea but all the pictured wire wrappers looked nothing like this , seems to me that it's incomplete
