    Certainly getting a lot of helpful advice here!
    We used to soak them in warm water with dish wishing liquid for a while then pluck them and singe them. Today there's auto pluckers,

    Boiling hot water in a bucket and bit of detergent ,fully pluck, gut, stuff, roast ........ Num Num Num.

    Watch out for any steel shot in the meat.
