    Lunch today.
    Kobe beef.
Very nice but very very expensive. A 120 gram steak with sides was $140nz.
I wouldn't rush out and do it again but if you are or have been involved in the beef industry, it's one of those things you have to do if you get the chance.

    Whale at a different restaurant.
Steak this time. Like really good venison that has been well prepared and hung for a good length of time. Lean looking meat but tastes like it is from a fat animal.
I would recommend trying it if you get the chance..
This dish was 600 yen. A comparable beef dish was 500 yen(about $6 NZ).

Tasty little snacks. Look like miniature Trevally which have been brined and dried.

Probably Yellow tail ie horse mackerel. You name it, the Japanese have a way to cook it.

    No. Completely wrong.
Just hungry and have always wanted to eat Whale.
I would really like to try seal too. It's not like there's a shortage of them in some places.
The problem is the green dogooders find a place where some species is under threat and try to claim that status globally. I don't see a problem with eating any species as long as it doesn't endanger that species.

And most things they cook they make a pretty good job of too.
Some English labelling on convenience foods would be handy. I've eaten quite a few things that I wasn't expecting to eat due to not being able to read Japanese.
