It's my understanding that the worms are only found in the intestinal tract, proper handling of a head shot animal in decent nick and I am happy to eat it.

Shot hundreds but never eaten one. Some like them, some don't. Often when I'm shooting at one, a Fallow deer falls over, so I'll stick with that along with the other 4 legged varieties.
I went looking for wallaby recipes on here and found this thread. I tried wallaby for the first time today, after shooting one at Tekapo on the weekend. It was surprisingly good, like someone said it's pretty bland for red meat. Probably the least gamey wild meat I've had, but it made great meatballs. Got 5kg of meat off the back legs which was pretty impressive.
